Snapshots of Us - Weeks 50 & 51

It's hard to believe it has only been two weeks since I last shared a Snapshot of Us. As always there has been plenty of things going on. For the most part though I was without my good camera because my card reader decided to stop reading. Which I found  somewhat heartbreaking because there were some killer shots on there.

Since my camera card is an almost antique compact flash card I worried I might not be able to find a new reader and therefore until I did so my *professional* photo taking was put on hold. Thankfully when we arrived in the big smoke I was finally able to locate a new reader. Though by that time my camera was safely stored at the back of a cupboard in the depths of Edna.

But enough of my camera woes.

Here are a few snaps from my trusty old phone.

The two little ones were transfixed by this big goanna next to the path.
I loved how they wanted to walk by so slowly and carefully so as not to disturb it.

Snapshots of Us - Weeks 39 & 40

Welcome to another wrap up in photos of what we have been up to.

Eighty Mile Beach was not exactly much of a swimming beach which we were initially a bit disappointed about. However there were certainly lots of interesting things to be found as we walked along the shores. Including these cute little hats.

From Eighty Mile we went to a free camp on the banks of the De Grey River.

This was the perfect chance for a spot of fishing.

After a blissful few days on the riverbanks and despite our abundance of fresh fish, we were forced to head to Port Hedland in search of more supplies.

As lovely as it was in Port Hedland there were not a whole lot of portraits of us to share. The few images I did capture I am holding on to for now and will share them when I do my post on Hedland.

The next port of call was back inland at Karijini National Park. One of the most truly beautiful places I have ever been to.

For more duckfaces make sure you follow Mr Awesome on Instagram.

Since we did such a fantastic job at packing up at Karijini and got on the road by eight o'clock and creating a new on the road record, we were rewarded with Chinese for dinner our first night in Karratha.

Snapshots of Us Weeks 36-38

It has been another couple of big weeks in the Awesome household. I returned from Darwin with the wonderful news my clot was gone and I no longer needed to take my medication. Which made the trip all rather worthwhile. Upon my return the girls stuck to me like glue for the next few days. You would have been sworn I was gone for five months rather than five days.

Sunset at James Price Point WA.
The home I returned to.
After leaving bare beauty of coastline living at James Price Point we head further up the Dampier Peninsular to an even more beautiful coastline at Cape Leveque. Though the living was not nearly as bare.
This shade shelter made life feel rather luxurious

From Cape Leveque we headed back down the coast and returned to Broome for a few days. Just in time to view the staircase to the moon. An event that happens a few days every month on the full moon. Unfortunately though my photography skills let me down and there are no shots to share with you.

The other highlight in Broome this time round though was camel riding.

When we left Broome we headed further down the coast. Not too far mind you as we found this great station stay called Barn Hill. It is a working cattle station with a caravan park attached and backs onto a rather lovely little beach.

On the second day there Zany found an injured sandpiper on the beach that she insisted on taking care of. Thankfully after an hour of care it seemed to be making a miraculous recovery so we were able to return it to the beach.

The thing I love most about this selfie is the lovely loomband necklace I am sporting is thanks to Teapot!
